John Allen Web Pages

John Allen's site pulls together things that I have collected over the years, associated with my main interests: computers and radio.

John Allen

John Allen Radio

These are pages about radio stations where I have had an involvement:

These all include a lot of audio clips in RealAudio format If you don't have a player it can be downloaded from the Real Networks site. The clips are coded at 20k, 34k and 96k (for 28k modems, 56k modems and broadband connections). Check my audio log.

John Allen Cambridge Z88 Portable

A collection of information and resources for the Cambridge Computer Z88 portable, particularly about its use with present day RiscOS Acorn computers, and the older BBC micro. A full menu of items is at my Z88 Page.

These are largely web versions of the text of articles from the now defunct Micro User magazine in the late 1980's.

There is also information about my book, Z88 PipeDream: A Dabhand Guide here. This is now out of print, but I may be able to supply a copy, if you send me an e-mail.

John Allen Risc OS Software

Freeware software, written by John Allen for Acorn Archimedes and Risc PC machines. Main item is Attacher the desktop e-mail and newsgroup attachment handler for RiscOS.

Also available: UUcoder, 64coder, Z88Link, ZLink and PsionLink.

There are full instructions and information about each item, so you can find out more details before downloading the software. The software can be downloaded through your browser or can be requested to be sent by e-mail.

Note: none of this software will work on Intel style PCs (i.e. Windows, Linux etc.) or Apple Macs.

Please let me know what you think about the site by filling in my guest book, leaving a link to your site if it is on a related subject, and sending me an e-mail response if you want to know more about any of the content. If you want to send an e-mail direct, the address is john <at> johnallen <dot> com, where the symbols replace the bracketed words.
